At my first Cajun dance, I think a local Twin Cities band the Bonetones were playing, a woman came up to me and asked if I wanted to dance.

I said I didn't know how. Her prompt response was "Come on out, I'll show you." I owe that woman, whoever she was, a great deal of thanks. Since then I've taken lessons, not only in Cajun & Zydeco, but other dances as well. I've gone down to Louisiana many times. I've even traveled around the region just to see Cajun & Creole Zydeco artists and dance to their music. I enjoy the best in their music, and do my best to develop their genuine dance styles. And in turn I've appreciated some very kind comments from students, viewers, and especially Cajuns & Creoles themselves saying how much they appreciated how well I dance & teach their styles. It is an honor to be asked by Cajuns & Creoles to keep doing what I do for the development of their culture. I put a great deal of work & effort into developing genuine dance style, and teaching in a way that is actually effective, helpful, fun.

My personal philosophy is to start with basic relationship skills, develop a foundation of basic dance skills, focus on the fundamentals of a particular dance, and then just play with the music, and have fun with my partner.
